Executive Committee Positions
The PTSA President helps lead the board, supports committee chairs, works closely with school administration, and helps keep the PTSA organized and moving forward throughout the year. This position is nominated by general membership at the end of the school year at the last General Meeting so the incoming board can begin working over the summer.

The Vice President supports the President and helps where needed throughout the year. This position may assist with board communication, committee support, event planning, membership goals, and stepping in when the President is unavailable. The Treasurer helps manage PTSA funds, tracks income and expenses, prepares financial reports, supports budgeting, and helps ensure all funds are handled responsibly. This position is important for keeping our PTSA transparent, organized, and financially prepared to support students, staff, programs, scholarships, and school needs. The Recording Secretary keeps accurate minutes at PTSA meetings and helps maintain official records. This role is perfect for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable taking notes during meetings so that board decisions, motions, and important updates are properly documented. The Corresponding Secretary helps with PTSA communication, including emails, thank-you notes, announcements, and other correspondence as needed. This position helps keep communication clear and professional between the PTSA, families, staff, community partners, and board members. Committee Chair Positions
The Programs Chair helps plan and support PTSA programs and events that benefit students, families, and the school community. This role may include helping organize educational programs, student activities, family engagement opportunities, guest speakers, or other events that align with PTSA goals.

The Ways & Means Chair helps plan and support fundraising opportunities for the PTSA. This may include restaurant nights, spirit nights, donation campaigns, sponsorship opportunities, school store fundraising, and other creative ways to raise funds that help support students, staff, scholarships, programs, and school needs.

The Membership Chair helps promote PTSA memberships to families, students, staff, and community members. This role includes helping encourage membership sign-ups, sharing the value of joining PTSA, tracking membership goals, and working with the board to grow support for Lyman students and programs.

The Merchandise Chair helps plan, design, and organize Lyman-themed merchandise for PTSA sales. This role may include researching products, helping with designs, coordinating orders, tracking inventory, and working with the School Store Chair to offer items that students, families, and staff will be excited to purchase.

The School Store Chair helps organize and support the PTSA school store, including merchandise planning, inventory, sales, and volunteer support. This position helps make Lyman spirit items available to students and families while raising funds that go directly back into supporting the school.

The Scholarship Chair helps organize the PTSA scholarship process for graduating seniors. This may include helping review scholarship guidelines, organizing applications, coordinating with 2 reviewers, communicating deadlines, and helping celebrate scholarship recipients. This position plays an important role in helping PTSA support students as they take their next step after graduation.

The Reflections Chair helps organize Lyman PTSA’s participation in the National PTA Reflections arts program. This role includes sharing program information, collecting student entries, communicating deadlines, and helping celebrate students who participate in visual arts, photography, literature, music, dance, film, and other creative categories.

The Social Media and Communications Chair helps share PTSA updates, events, reminders, fundraisers, volunteer opportunities, and student/community highlights. This role helps keep families informed and engaged through social media, website updates, graphics, newsletters, and other communication tools.

The Grants Chair helps research and apply for grant opportunities that may benefit Lyman students, staff, classrooms, clubs, or PTSA programs. This position is great for someone who enjoys researching opportunities, writing, organizing information, and helping bring additional resources to our school.

The Senior Breakfast Chair helps plan and organize the annual Senior Breakfast, a special tradition for graduating seniors. This role may include coordinating food, donations, volunteers, decorations, setup, and communication with the school to help create a memorable celebration for the senior class.

The Hospitality Chair helps organize ways to show appreciation and support for Lyman teachers and staff throughout the year. This may include staff treats, appreciation events, welcome-back items, small celebrations, and other thoughtful gestures that help remind our staff how much they are valued.

The Student Committee Chair helps support student involvement within Lyman PTSA. This role may include helping organize student volunteers, gathering student input, encouraging student memberships, and creating opportunities for students to be involved in PTSA programs, events, fundraising, and school spirit initiatives.

The Business Partner and Community Outreach Chair helps build relationships with local businesses, families, and community members who want to support Lyman High School. This position may work closely with sponsorships, donations, fundraising, and recognition efforts to help strengthen PTSA’s connection with the community.
